Congress leader Shashi Tharoor will face trial in the death case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, a Delhi court said today. Taking cognizance of the filed charge sheet, Tharoor has been summoned as an accused to appear in the court on July 7. The court said that there is sufficient ground to proceed the trial against Dr Shashi Tharoor regarding the offences of abetment of suicide and committing cruelty towards his wife, Sunanda Pushkar. However, Tharoor's lawyer has called these offences "absurd and preposterous".
