mired in the controversy for a long time now, Padmavat will now release worldwide on January 25 as the Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the notices and orders passed by certain States to prohibit its exhibition. The court said the grant of a certificate by the CBFC under the Cinematograph Act of 1952 debars the States of any power to exercise prohibition on the exhibition of that film.
