After centre’s refusal to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday decided to snap its support ties with the NDA coalition. The TDP politburo unanimously took this decision during a teleconference with party supremo and Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu in the morning. TDP also moved a no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government in the Lok Sabha, but Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has adjourned the House till Monday.

केंद्र सरकार द्वारा आंध्र प्रदेश को स्पेशल कैटेगरी स्टेटस देने से इन्कार करने  के बाद तेलुगू देशम पार्टी (TDP) ने शुक्रवार को औपचारिक रूप से NDA गठबंधन के साथ अपने समर्थन संबंधों को तोड़ने का फैसला किया। यह फैसला पोलित ब्यूरो की पार्टी के प्रमुख व आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री, एन चंद्राबाबू नायडू के साथ सुबह हुई टेलिकॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान सर्वसम्मति से लिया गया। TDP ने लोकसभा में नरेन्द्र मोदी सरकार के खिलाफ अविश्वास प्रस्ताव भी चलाया, परन्तु स्पीकर सुमित्रा महाजन ने सोमवार तक सदन को स्थगित कर दिया है।
