In a decision that will ensure that netizens continue to have free and fair access to the internet, the government on Wednesday approbated the principles of Net neutrality. Telecom secretary Aruna Sundarajan has made it clear that any breach of the rules of net neutrality, which have come into effect almost immediately, will face stiff penalties. India’s decision to uphold Net neutrality rules is being given greater significance after they were repealed in the U.S.
