Railways have made a slight change in the rules for booking train tickets. Now passengers have to provide their own mobile number for contact details while booking tickets. In fact, the Railways have taken this step in view of the increasing number of ticket brokers and fake tickets. Indian Railways said that some railway passengers purchase their train ticket agents or from other's IRCTC accounts. In such a situation, the passenger's own contact number is not registered in the passenger reservation system. If the train is cancelled or there is any change in the time of the train, the information is not sent on the mobile number of the passengers, so the Railways has said that at the time of booking the passengers should register their mobile number so that they can get necessary notifications on time.

ट्रेन का टिकट बुक कराने के लिए रेलवे ने नियमों में हल्का सा बदलाव किया है। अब यात्रियों को टिकट बुक करवाते समय संपर्क विवरण के लिए अपना ही मोबाइल नंबर देना होगा। दरअसल रेलवे ने ये कदम टिकट दलालों और फर्जी टिकटों की बढ़ती संख्या को देखते हुए उठाया है। भारतीय रेलवे ने कहा कि कुछ रेल यात्री अपने ट्रेन टिकट एजेंट या दूसरों के आईआरसीटीसी अकाउंट्स से खरीदते हैं। ऐसे में यात्री का अपना कॉन्टैक्ट नंबर पैसेंजर रिजर्वेशन सिस्टम में रजिस्टर नहीं हो पाता है। अगर ट्रेन कैंसिल होती है या ट्रेन के समय में किसी भी तरह का बदलाव होता है, तो यात्रियों के मोबाइल नंबर पर सूचना नहीं पहुंच पाती है, इसलिए रेलवे ने कहा है कि टिकट बुकिंग के समय यात्री अपना मोबाइल नंबर ही रजिस्टर्ड कराएं ताकि ये जरूरी सूचनाएं उन्हें समय पर मिल सकें।
