Reflexive Pronouns (निजवाचक सर्वनाम)
जब वाक्य में कर्त्ता (subject - pronoun) द्वारा किया गया कार्य उस पर ही किया गया हो अर्थात वह उस कार्य का प्राप्तकर्ता (recipient) हो तो ऐसे pronoun को reflexive pronoun कहते हैं। Reflexive pronoun (निजवाचक सर्वनाम) object की तरह प्रयोग होता है और उस से प्रतीत होता है कि subject द्वारा किया हुआ काम स्वयं उसी पर ही हो रहा है। जैसे -
I have hurt myself. (मैंने खुद को चोट मारी है।)
You are too young to go out by yourselves. (आप अपने आप से बाहर जाने के लिए बहुत छोटे हैं।)
दिए गए वाक्यों में subject (I, You) के द्वारा किये गए कार्य (hurt, to go out) उन्हीं पर हुए हैं। इसलिए इन वाक्यों myself और yourselves - reflexive pronoun है।
Reflexive pronoun describes noun when subject’s action affects the subject itself. Reflexive pronouns always act as objects not subjects, and they require an interaction between the subject and an object.

Emphatic Pronouns (दृढ़तावाचक सर्वनाम)
जब Reflexive pronoun का प्रयोग subject पर ज़ोर या बल देने के लिए होता है तो उन्हें emphatic pronoun कहते हैं पर इनसे इसके अर्थ में बहुत अधिक अंतर नहीं पड़ता। (See sentence 1)
