Where to use Capitalization PART 2 - in written English - #Namaste English


Always capitalize the following:



  1. The first letter of nationalities, religions, races of people, and languages. Example: We often eat Italian food.

  2. The first letter in a person’s title. Example: This is Dr. Simon.

  3. Geographic areas: cities, states, countries, mountains, oceans, rivers, etc. Example: My destination is Paris, France.

  4. The first letter of each major word in the title of a book, movie, article, etc. Example: Tolstoy’s War and Peace is my favorite novel.
