वह शब्द है जो किसी संज्ञा या सर्वनाम की विशेषता बताता है या फिर संज्ञा या सर्वनाम की अतिरिक्त विशेषता के बारे में बताता है, उसे विशेषण Adjective कहते हैं। (Adjective is a term that describes the characteristic of a noun or pronoun, or refers to the extra specialty of the noun or pronoun, it is called adjective.) जैसे -
Dress is beautiful (ड्रेस सुंदर है।)
I like that dress. (मुझे वह ड्रेस पसंद हैं।)
The basket has some chocolates. (बास्केट में कुछ चॉकलेट्स हैं।)
