हिंदी में हम प्रश्न पूछने के लिए क्या, क्यों, कैसे, कब जैसे शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं। इसी तरह से इंग्लिश में भी प्रश्न पूछने के लिए words होते हैं जिन्हें आप wh- words के नाम से जानते हैं। पर ये भी एक तरह के adjectives है। जो adjective प्रश्न पूछने का कार्य करते है उन्हें Interrogative adjective कहते है।
What time is it now ? (अब क्या समय हुआ है ?)
Which books is yours ?( आपकी कौनसी किताब है ?)
Whose pen is this ?( यह कलम किसका है?)
जब What, Which और Whose के बाद कोई Noun आए, तो यह शब्द Interrogative Adjectives होंगे। परन्तु अगर उनके बाद Verb आए तो ये शब्द Interrogative Pronoun माने जाएंगे।

यहाँ "which" is an interrogative adjective, as it is describing the noun "color".

Here, "what" is an interrogative pronoun as it is asking a question,
